Exciting news at Applegate Properties HQ: We have been shortlisted for an award at the 2016 Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards!
Set up by the organisation Forward Ladies and sponsored by HSBC, the awards celebrate the achievements of women in business. Applegate Properties has been nominated in the emerging small to medium business category, along with other female entrepreneurs from Yorkshire & the Humber, the North East and Scotland.
On announcing the shortlist, Griselda Togobo, MD of Forward Ladies said: “This has been a fantastic year for women; we continue to start, grow and run high profile successful companies. We have been surprised and delighted by the number and calibre and diversity of the applications we have received, and look forward to celebrating their success.”
The judging panel includes Debra White, Regional Director of Small Businesses for HSBC, Ajaz Ahmed, the founder of Freeserve, Helen Samuels from United Utilities and Saha Hashemi, founder of Coffee Republic.
Along with the other shortlisted candidates, we will attend the regional final at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne on 14th October. The winners from this and the other regional finals will then be invited to appear before a live judging interview panel in November, followed by the national final in Leeds on 1st December.
Forward Ladies was founded in 1999 with the aim of supporting women in business. Now a national organisation with more than 14,500 UK based professional women members, Forward Ladies works with progressive companies wanting to retain and promote the potential of their female talent.
Amy and the team at Applegate already have a number of awards under their belt. Applegate was Regional Agency of the Year and All Agents Letting Agent of the Year in 2015, while Amy herself won Young Business Person of the Year Award at the Huddersfield Examiner business awards in 2015.
