5 easy steps to get your home ready for Christmas!

18th Dec, 2017

Because Christmas is just around the corner, we wanted to embrace the festive theme and help you get your home ready for the season!

Whether you’re the one hosting the party, or you simply want to get your property ready for all of your visitors, here are 5 simple ways you can prepare your home for the festive period…

  1. Clean and clear out. As you’re putting your decorations up around the house, it’s a great opportunity to clear out anything that has been gathering dust. Your home will not only feel festive, but it will also be decluttered and sparkling clean!
  2. Update your rooms. Most people will have tonnes of visitors – as well as Santa Claus – so make sure your rooms feel inviting and comforting to make everyone feel at ease. After all, it is winter – people want to get out of the cold into a lovely warm environment!
  3. Assess the sleeping arrangements. Some of your visitors may live some distance away, which could mean they need a bed for the night. And you don’t want to disappoint them by telling them that there’s no room at the inn! So it may be worth investing in an air bed, or figuring out alternative sleeping arrangements for the night.
  4. Put up decorations. Most of you may have already put up your decorations, but if not then nothing says Christmas like a tree and some lights – you can even reuse last year’s so save on the pennies!
  5. Provide food and drink. Last but not least, this is the most important Christmas necessity. It simply would not be Christmas without these, and with all the festive deals and offers on at this time of year, you can get your house full to the brim with lovely food and drink for family and friends!

With just ONE week to go, we hope these tips help you to get you and your home ready for Christmas!

Remember, we are one of the few estate and lettings agents open over the festive period – except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. So if you need any more help or tips, feel free to pop in and see us any time!
