7th Birthday – a roundup of our best bits!

8th Aug, 2017

On the 1st of July Applegate Properties turned 7 – we can’t believe it, time really does fly when you’re having fun!

We’re such a busy bunch, but on the day itself we took the opportunity to celebrate this milestone at one of our favourite Holmfirth spots, Aldea with some fun cocktail making.

Since then, we’ve had chance to reflect on our whirlwind journey so far. So, let’s have a look back over what’s gone on in – and out of – the office over the years…

Awards have been popping up all over the place at Applegate Properties – we have been nominated for a Forward Ladies award for the past four years in a row, as well as a Lettings agency of the Year award AND a Negotiator award for the past three years! We even managed to bag the Eaton Smith Business of the Month Award in September 2015.

Our apprentices Lewis and Laura Simpson set a shining example when they were also nominated for awards – all before becoming fully fledged members of the Applegate team!

Along with our two apprentices coming on board full time, we have made many appointments across all departments, to aid us in our growth. Every single person has had a role to play in helping us to reach our 7th successful year!

Some of us have attended events to inspire the younger generation to be ambitious in their careers. Our MD Amy Wray and Laura Simpson went along to the 2016 Kirklees College Employability Week convention, for example, to prepare the students for their next adventure in life! Later that year Amy was also invited to visit Holmfirth High to talk to the students about being a business owner and setting up alone – we hope that, a year later, our words are pushing the students to strive for greatness!

The most recent event that we have been a part of, which was super exciting for everyone here at Applegate, was being one of the main sponsors at this year’s Honley Show! And, even though it rained pretty much from start to finish, we enjoyed every second of the fun-packed day!

The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is a charity that we hold close to our hearts, so we have taken part in various events and fundraisers over the years including a rounder’s tournament, a onesie walk around Holmfirth, a pumpkin carving competition and a Yorkshire Day tea party. And, in April 2016 we became the 99th member to join the charity’s 99ers club!

And let’s not forget all of the tips and advice we have given you over the course of our 7 years about all things property! If you ever have any unanswered questions or just fancy a gander at what else we have been up to, visit our news page!

It’s been an amazing 7 years – we can’t wait for what else is to come! We’d like to thank everyone who has been a part of our journey – we couldn’t have done it without you!
