According to a new survey published this week, the majority of tenants in the UK property market would be happy to pay a higher rental price in order to secure their ideal home. As many as 62 percent of tenants are thought to be okay with paying as high as ten percent more than their original budget if it meant getting access to their dream property.
In total, the number reaches even higher, with 78 percent of all tenants saying they would be happy to exceed their own budget in order to find a home that goes above and beyond their needs. However, when asked if they would pay more than 20 percent higher than their budget, only two percent said yes.
Surprisingly, only 22 percent of Brits would not be swayed by a dream property at all and would stick to their budget regardless of the property quality.
Whether you're renting or buying a property, most people have a budget in mind. While most of us think it's important to have a budget, it seems a lot of us would be happy to stretch their finances to get a home that ticks all the boxes.
